NBA Finals Refs Game 3: Scott Foster-Chris Paul History Could Be a Factor on Sunday

Sunday's NBA Finals Game 3 will be a huge test for the Phoenix Suns as they look to capture a pivotal 3-0 series lead over the Milwaukee Bucks. One factor that could complicate things is the officials scheduled to ref Game 3.
NBA Finals Game 3 Refs
Long-time referee Scott Foster will serve as crew chief for Sunday's game. He is joined by Eric Lewis (referee) and James Williams (umpire) with Curtis Blair serving as an alternate and Kane Fitzgerald in the replay center.
Scott Foster Chris Paul
Foster and Suns point guard Chris Paul have a history together, which could rear its head in Game 3.

During the 2020 playoffs in the bubble, an emotional Paul didn't hold back as he called Foster out for decisive calls during the Oklahoma City Thunder's Game 7 loss to the Houston Rockets.
Scott Foster Chris Paul Record
Earlier this playoffs, Paul put a spotlight on the fact that his teams were 0-11 in recent playoff games refereed by Foster.

Phoenix finally broke that winless streak after they (without Paul) beat the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Hopefully the Chris Paul-Scott Foster connection is a non-factor in Sunday's game. The Bucks are currently 4.5-point favorites over the Suns heading into Game 3, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
