NBA DFS 4/1/2022
Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Friday, 4/1, NBA DFS action.
FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 4/1
Karl-Anthony Towns Fantasy
Target Karl-Anthony Towns, C, Minnesota Timberwolves ($8,500): This slate is filled with potential blowout games, which makes targeting someone in the Denver Nuggets vs Minnesota Timberwolves matchup a good idea. The spread is set at just 3 points in a game that is sure to have Western Conference seeding implications. Not only that, but the point total is set at a whopping 241 points. Minnesota plays at the fastest pace in the NBA and now faces a Denver defense that allows the seventh-most points in the paint per game this season (49.5). Karl-Anthony Towns has also averaged 23.3 points and 7.3 rebounds in three games against the Nuggets this season. Trust him to have a big game on the road.
Jalen Green Fantasy
Target Jalen Green, SG, Houston Rockets ($6,500): The Rockets are playing with nothing to lose at this point and have already shutdown veterans like Christian Wood and Dennis Schroder for the season. That gives Jalen Green another opportunity to ball out. The rookie has scored 30 or more points in each of his last two games and has taken at least 25 shots in each one, too. He should have no trouble picking apart a Sacramento Kings defense that has posted the fourth-worst defensive efficiency mark in the NBA. Sacramento allows the most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards as well. Everything lines up for Green to be well worth his price tag on Friday night.
CJ McCollum Fantasy
Target CJ McCollum, SG, New Orleans Pelicans ($8,200): The New Orleans Pelicans play the Los Angeles Lakers tonight on national television as both teams fight to get into the Western Conference play-in. Fantasy managers looking to get in on the action for this game should trust CJ McCollum over anyone else. The 30-year-old sharpshooter is averaging 25.9 points and 6.3 assists with New Orleans this season. He also draws a great matchup against a Lakers defense that has given up an opponent shooting percentage of 50.4% over its last three games. It's worth noting LA allows the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards, too. Slide McCollum into your starting lineup with confidence.
Tyrese Haliburton Fantasy
Avoid Tyrese Haliburton, PG/SG, Indiana Pacers ($8,400): Don't get it twisted, Tyrese Haliburton has played well for the Indiana Pacers since being acquired via trade back in February. He just runs into a nightmare matchup on Friday night. Boston owns the best defensive efficiency mark in the NBA and allows only 21.5 assists per game (No. 1 in NBA). That does not bode well for Haliburton given most of his fantasy production comes from dishing the ball to open teammates (8.1 assists per game). The former Iowa State standout will likely be guarded by Marcus Smart, which is never a positive thing for point guards. Stay away from Haliburton on Friday night.
Khris Middleton Fantasy
Avoid Khris Middleton, SF/SG, Milwaukee Bucks ($7,500): Khris Middleton was ejected in the fourth quarter of Thursday night's game due to a hard foul on Bruce Brown, yet he still ended up with 30 minutes played. Hosting the Clippers on the second night of the back-to-back could lead to some tired legs early. Middleton has scored less than 20 points in two of his last three games and now faces a Clippers defense that gives up the second-fewest points to opposing shooting guards. LA also allows an opponent three-point shooting percentage of 34.6% (T-No. 9 in NBA). Middleton posting a dud seems much more likely than him putting together an amazing performance.
