NBA DFS 2/8/2022

Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Tuesday, 2/8, NBA DFS action.

FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 2/8

Giannis Antetokounmpo Fantasy

Target Giannis Antetokounmpo, PF/SF, Milwaukee Bucks ($11,300): Giannis enters with the second-highest salary on tonight's slate, but for good reason. He's red-hot, scoring 50+ DFS points in 11 of 16 games since Jan. 1. Anthony Davis may be back in the lineup, but it's a back-to-back for LA and Giannis scored 47 points with 9 rebounds the last time these two teams played. Not to mention, the Lakers and Bucks both rank top-six in pace in this enticing game with a 232.5-point over/under.

Jaren Jackson Fantasy

Target Jaren Jackson, C, Memphis Grizzlies ($7,800): The thinking behind starting Jaren Jackson tonight is simple, he feasts against the LA Clippers' poor rebounding and porous interior defense. LA ranks second-to-last in opponent rebounds and bottom-four in opponent points in the paint. As a result, Jackson is averaging 7 rebounds, 21.7 points, 3.3 blocks per game against the Clippers this season or 45.1 DFS points in three games. We expect that trend to continue tonight.

Anfernee Simons Fantasy

Target Anfernee Simons, PG/SG, Portland Trail Blazers ($6,500): There's still some unknown in the fallout of Portland's trading away of C.J. McCollum, but we like that wild card option tonight. McCollum's departure leaves a massive 25.8% usage percentage up for grabs and Anfernee Simons is the most obvious candidate to step up. Simons already takes 26.1% of Portland's shots, and he could be in for an even bigger role after the trade. Also, this is a favorable night to enjoy a breakout performance. The Orlando Magic rank 12th in the NBA in pace and just 25th in opponent 3-point percentage from guards (36.2%).

Christian Wood Fantasy

Avoid Christian Wood, PF/C, Houston Rockets ($8,500): Christian Wood has enjoyed a breakout season, setting his career-high mark of 10.3 rebounds per game thus far. The Rockets big man has been fantasy relevant thanks to his rebounding and 17.7 points per game, but he's getting ready to run into a brick wall tonight. The New Orleans Pelicans rate second in the NBA in opponent rebounding, giving up just 42.3 per night. These two teams met a few nights ago and Wood managed only 8 rebounds. If he can't produce at least 22 points on offense like he did the other night, this $8,500 price tag isn't worth it.

Patty Mills Fantasy

Avoid Patty Mills, SG/PG, Brooklyn Nets ($5,700): James Harden was ruled out for tonight's contest, leaving a lot of questions surrounding the Nets' offense. With all three of Brooklyn's "big three" out against a stellar Celtics defense, it's unclear where the offense will come from. That's enough of a reason to stay away from Patty Mills, but then you consider how good Boston has been defensively on the perimeter. The Celtics rank second in opponent field goal percentage by guards and seventh in opponent 3-point percentage from guards. Mills is shooting just 39.1% in his last five and this isn't the night to expect a big turnaround.
