NBA DFS 2/3/2022
Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Thursday, 2/3, NBA DFS action.
FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 2/3
Anthony Davis Fantasy
Target Anthony Davis, PF/C, Los Angeles Lakers ($9,600): Anthony Davis has taken charge for the Los Angeles Lakers with LeBron James out. Over his last three outings, Davis is averaging a whopping 29.3 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He's put up a combined 163.9 FanDuel fantasy points during this stretch (54.6 FPPG average), and he's positioned to keep things up with James absent once again. The Clippers already give up the second-most RPG in the league due to a lackluster frontcourt, and they could be without starting center Ivica Zubac on Thursday. Davis should bully whoever the Clippers throw at him tonight.
Gary Trent Jr. Fantasy
Target Gary Trent Jr., SG/SF, Toronto Raptors ($7,100): Gary Trent Jr. has become a human torch over the past five games. He's scored at least 30 points and made at least 5 threes in each outing during this stretch. Trent has been given the green light, chucking up 22.6 field goal attempts per game and seeing an impressive 41.7 minutes per contest. He now draws a Chicago Bulls defense missing two key pieces in Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso, which should make his life easier on the perimeter. Ride Trent's hot hand as long as he's in this groove.
Reggie Jackson Fantasy
Target Reggie Jackson, PG, Los Angeles Clippers ($5,800): Reggie Jackson is set to face his third straight opponent that ranks in the top 10 for most PPG allowed to opponents. The previous results? At least 19 points, 5 assists and 30 fantasy points in each of his last two games. The Lakers' defensive woes have been clear all season, and this unit won't be any better with LeBron James missing his fifth straight game. Jackson should have no problems exploiting this defense and providing a solid return on a modest salary.
Clint Capela Fantasy
Avoid Clint Capela, C, Atlanta Hawks ($7,200): Clint Capela has failed to make a sizable impact since returning from a six-game absence in January. He's been on a minutes restriction over the past six contests, and it's played a part in the big man failing to crack double-digit rebounds during this time. He's also had scoring troubles, recording single-digit point totals in five of his last six games. He'll now match up with the imposing Deandre Ayton and a Phoenix Suns team that holds opposing centers to the fourth-fewest fantasy points per game. Wait for Capela to see his normal dose of minutes before relying on him in your lineups.
Jerami Grant Fantasy
Avoid Jerami Grant, PF, Detroit Pistons ($6,600): Jerami Grant is fresh off of a lengthy stint on the inactive list as well, and his return went just as expected. Grant notched 17 points in nearly 29 minutes, but managed just 1 rebound and assist. It will likely take the forward time to get back to the 20.1 PPG, 4.8 RPG and 2.6 APG he was averaging before missing 24 straight contests. Don't expect much from Grant as he works himself up to game speed again.
