NBA DFS 2/1/2022

Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Tuesday, 2/1, NBA DFS action.

FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 2/1

Stephen Curry Fantasy

Target Stephen Curry, PG, Golden State Warriors ($9,300): If there's anyone worth their high price tag tonight, it is Stephen Curry. The fact that the Warriors are playing on the second night of a back-to-back should not worry anyone. Klay Thompson amongst others are out for this one, which means Curry needs to have a monster performance to lock up a win. It's worth pointing out that the Spurs allow the sixth-most points per game to opposing point guards (24.15) and got torched by Curry for 27 on December 4. San Antonio also allows an opponent three-point shooting percentage of 35.0% (T-No. 17 in NBA). Look for the seven-time All-Star to ball out on Tuesday night.

Nikola Vucevic Fantasy

Target Nikola Vucevic, C, Chicago Bulls ($8,700): Paying the price to have Nikola Vucevic in your DFS lineup tonight makes a lot of sense, too. The Bulls big man has logged a double-double in eight of his last 10 games and draws a perfect matchup against a poor Orlando defense. The Magic have posted the ninth-worst defensive efficiency mark in the NBA and allow well over 110 points per game on the year. More importantly, Orlando gives up the sixth-most rebounds to opposing centers. Vucevic's ability to crash the boards will come in handy early and often in this contest. The Magic simply have no one to shut him down.

Spencer Dinwiddie Fantasy

Target Spencer Dinwiddie, PG, Washington Wizards ($6,300): Another guard to target on Tuesday night is Spencer Dinwiddie of the Wizards. Washington will be without Bradley Beal against the Bucks due to a wrist injury. That means Dinwiddie could see upwards of 30-plus minutes in this contest with the starters instead of the backups. Keep in mind that Milwaukee allows the most three-pointers to opposing point guards in the NBA this season (3.60). Dinwiddie has proven he is not afraid to shoot the long ball, averaging 6.4 attempts from beyond the arc over his last seven contests. Add in the fact that Dinwiddie averages 5.7 assists per game and he suddenly becomes a great option at $6,300.

Fred VanVleet Fantasy

Avoid Fred VanVleet, PG, Toronto Raptors ($8,700): Point guard Fred VanVleet has failed to surpass 20 points in four of his last five games and is solely becoming a facilitator on the Raptors offense. That may be an issue on Tuesday night thanks to the defensive dominance of the Miami Heat. The Heat allow the fewest points per game to opposing PGs (20.36) as well as the sixth-fewest assists per game (7.80). Miami has also forced VanVleet into 5 turnovers in each of its last two matchups against Toronto. Nothing here adds up for the 27-year-old to be worth his hefty price tag tonight.

Karl-Anthony Towns Fantasy

Avoid Karl-Anthony Towns, C, Minnesota Timberwolves ($10,000): There's no doubt that Karl-Anthony Towns has been a rockstar for the Minnesota Timberwolves this season. He simply runs into an MVP candidate in Nikola Jokic on Tuesday night. Jokic has played a key role in the fact the Denver allows the fewest rebounds to opposing centers on the season (12.91). Without Towns being able to rack up boards, all of his fantasy value will come from his scoring. That area of his game has been hit or miss lately with Towns posting less than his season scoring average in five of his last seven games. There is a ton of value in targeting centers with lower price tags.
