NBA DFS 11/1/2021
Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Tuesday, 11/2, NBA DFS action.
FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 11/2
Jimmy Butler Fantasy
Target Jimmy Butler, SG/SF, Miami Heat ($10,000): Jimmy Butler is on fire. He's recorded four straight games with at least 51 FanDuel fantasy points, and he's averaging 25.3 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game. Butler current usage rate of 27.7% this season is the highest mark of his career, demonstrating how much Miami is relying on him in the early going with injuries affecting the roster. The Dallas Mavericks simply don't have wings that can contain Butler, making him an attractive play.
Jonas Valanciunas Fantasy
Target Jonas Valanciunas, C, New Orleans Pelicans ($8,600): Jonas Valanciunas is putting up his own gaudy numbers for a lacking New Orleans Pelicans team. Valanciunas is averaging career highs in both PPG (19.4) and RPG (14.6) as the Pelicans' main option outside of Brandon Ingram. The big man's production as a scorer and rebounder should continue with Zion Williamson sidelined indefinitely.
Cade Cunningham Fantasy
Target Cade Cunningham, PG/SG, Detroit Pistons ($5,000): Cade Cunningham is a low-priced upside choice on Tuesday. He finally made his NBA debut on Oct. 30, recording 14.4 fantasy points in 18 minutes. He's now gotten several days of rest for his ankle and isn't on tonight's injury report, which is great news heading into this matchup. The Milwaukee Bucks are down several starters, including lockdown defenders Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton, and have given up the ninth-most PPG to opponents so far. This is a golden chance for Cunningham to have his first big game in the pros if he gets starter-level minutes.
Luka Doncic Fantasy
Avoid Luka Doncic, PG/SG, Dallas Mavericks ($10,400): Luka Doncic has been up and down to begin the season. He's recorded below 40 fantasy points in three of his six games, and he's shooting an abysmal 23.8% from 3-point range. Doncic has also struggled mightily at the free throw line, drawing the fewest FTA of his career (4.7) and recording his worst percentage at the line (67.9%) as a pro. Doncic's shooting woes are bad omens against a Miami Heat defense holding opponents to the fifth-fewest PPG. It could be a long night for both Doncic and his teammates.
Anthony Davis Fantasy
Avoid Anthony Davis, PF/C, Los Angeles Lakers ($10,000): Anthony Davis' production has slipped in recent games as he deals with a knee injury. He's averaging just 15.5 PPG over his last two contests, including 16 against these same Houston Rockets. LA got out to an early lead and was able to coast in that matchup, which led to just 32 minutes for the star big man. It's hard to see anything but that outcome repeating in this one given the talent disparity. The Lakers will likely be happy to cut his night short if things get out of hand, so it's hard to see AD living up to his price.
