NBA DFS 10/19/2021
Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Tuesday, 10/19, NBA DFS action.
FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 10/19
Kevin Durant Fantasy
Target Kevin Durant, SF/PF, Brooklyn Nets ($10,800): Kevin Durant is in line to do heavy lifting for the Brooklyn Nets with Kyrie Irving sidelined. Durant averaged 26.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 35 games for Brooklyn last season. Those numbers jumped to 31.9/6.3/6.9 in games without Irving. KD also put up five double-doubles, and even a triple-double, against these same Bucks in last year's seven-game Eastern Conference semifinals. Expect Durant to come out red hot against familiar foes and ruin ring night.
Khris Middleton Fantasy
Target Khris Middleton, SG/SF, Milwaukee Bucks ($7,800): Khris Middleton took it to another level in the semifinals as well. Middleton averaged 24.3 PPG, 8.7 RPG and 4.3 APG in the Brooklyn series, outpacing most of his season averages (20.4/6.0/5.4). He clearly knows how to exploit this Nets defense, which didn't improve at all this offseason on the wing. Middleton should have his way against a team that surrendered the 10th-most PPG (112.9) in the regular season.
Carmelo Anthony Fantasy
Target Carmelo Anthony, SF/PF, Los Angeles Lakers ($5,000): Carmelo Anthony is an attractive value target tonight. Anthony hasn't dropped off as a scorer, putting up 13.4 points per game for the Portland Trail Blazers last year while setting career highs in 3-point percentage (40.9%) and free throw percentage (89.0%). Melo will be leaned upon by the Lakers in the early part of the year given the injuries to forwards Talen Horton-Tucker and Trevor Ariza. Anthony also has intriguing upside on the glass against the team that gave up the third-most RPG to opponents (55.3) last year.
Jrue Holiday Fantasy
Avoid Jrue Holiday, PG/SG, Milwaukee Bucks ($8,500): Khris Middleton needed to step up for the Bucks in the semifinals given Jrue Holiday's struggles. Holiday shot an abysmal 36.1% from the field and saw his PPG drop to 15.1 after averaging 17.7 in the regular season. Now veteran point guard George Hill is back in the mix, and Milwaukee gave its offense a boost by adding marksman Grayson Allen. A deeper guard corps to start the year could see Holiday's scoring load reduced, capping his fantasy upside.
Kendrick Nunn Fantasy
Avoid Kendrick Nunn, SG/PG, Los Angeles Lakers ($4,400): Kendrick Nunn took a step back in the 2020-21 season after an impressive rookie year. Nunn's PPG (14.6) and APG (2.6) dropped off from his first-year numbers as he struggled to establish himself in a Miami Heat offense that needed players to step up. He nows joins a Lakers team where he'll play behind Russell Westbrook after seeing starter-level minutes to start his career. Veteran Rajon Rondo also presents a threat to cut into Nunn's role if he doesn't produce. Even if he's cleared from his ankle injury to play Tuesday, he's still an avoid.
