NBA DFS 1/18/2022

Without further ado, here are three players to target and two to avoid in Tuesday, 1/18, NBA DFS action.

FanDuel Picks Tonight NBA - 1/18

Cade Cunningham Fantasy

Target Cade Cunningham, PG/SG, Detroit Pistons ($6,000): Rookie Cade Cunningham is producing well above his price point as of late. The former Oklahoma State standout is averaging 19.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists over the course of his last four games. He is starting to take over on the offensive side of the court and leads the Pistons in usage rate over the past week. The Warriors are a stout defense, but this game has blowout written all over it. Head coach Dwayne Casey would have no choice but to let his top draft pick loose in that scenario. Cunningham has a perfect opportunity to ball out.

Karl-Anthony Towns Fantasy

Target Karl-Anthony Towns, C, Minnesota Timberwolves ($9,600): One player that is worth the high price tag tonight is Karl-Anthony Towns. The Minnesota big man has been on fire lately, posting at least 25 points and 8 rebounds in each of his last four games. The Timberwolves play at the third-highest pace in the NBA, which means Towns is seeing a ton of opportunities to put the ball in the basket down in the paint. Julius Randle has had problems covering Towns in the past and has his work cut out for him tonight. If the Timberwolves want any chance of leaving Madison Square Garden with a victory, they will feed Towns all night long.

Jonathan Kuminga Fantasy

Target Jonathan Kuminga, SF, Golden State Warriors ($5,100): Winning in NBA DFS is all about finding the diamonds in the rough. Golden State's Jonathan Kuminga fits that mold rather well on Tuesday night. The 19-year-old has quietly become a productive player for head coach Steve Kerr. Kuminga is averaging 19.7 points per game over his last three contests and is shooting an impressive 48.6% from the field on the year. As was stated before, this game could turn into a blowout. That may benefit Kuminga more than anyone else on the court. There's no reason to think he won't play most of the second half. In that case, he provides a lot of value at his price tag.

Julius Randle Fantasy

Avoid Julius Randle, PF/C, New York Knicks ($8,400): There's simply not much to like about Julius Randle in a matchup against a tough Minnesota defense. The Timberwolves rank No. 10 in the NBA when it comes to defensive efficiency and allow the eighth-fewest points in the paint per game (44.0). Forcing Randle to shoot from the perimeter does not bode well for his fantasy value. The eighth-year pro is sinking 31.6% of his three-pointers and has scored over 20 points in one of his last five games. Paying a price tag of $8,400 means there should be no question marks as to whether or not said player will produce. However, that's not the case with Randle.

Saddiq Bey Fantasy

Avoid Saddiq Bey, SF, Detroit Pistons ($6,100): The Pistons are not made up of a bunch of superstars, but Saddiq Bey has held his own so far this season. He ranks third on the team averaging 15.0 points per game and plays more minutes than any other player on the roster. That may be enough reason to put him on the bench if his matchup against the Warriors turns into a blowout. Bey is also putting up just 12.3 points and 3.7 rebounds over his last three games played. So no matter how you look at it, the 22-year-old is not worth targeting.
