Nationals pitcher Austin Voth experienced a scary moment during Sunday's game when he was struck in the face by a Vince Velasquez pitch.
Thankfully, the pitch hit Voth's helmet prior to his face so he didn't receive the full brunt of it. He was able to walk off on his own but exited the game.
Voth has been a bright spot for the Nationals this season, in 18 appearances he is 2-0 with a 2.93 ERA. Further testing will be done to determine the severity of his injury, and how much time Voth will miss.
At this point, it's just good that Voth seems relatively ok, things could have been a lot worse.
