Kemba Walker has turned himself into one of the NBA's most lethal scorers, but the Charlotte Hornets haven't been able to build a contender around him. Despite Walker's best season as a professional, averaging 25.6 points per game, the Hornets once again missed the postseason.

In fact, Charlotte has only made the NBA Playoffs once in the past five seasons, and just twice during Kemba's eight-year career. Now that Walker is set to be a free agent this summer, here are the most likely destinations for the All-Star guard.

The Bulls should have enough cap space to sign Kemba and they haven't had a legitimate star since Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler played in Chicago. Signing Walker could give the Bulls the star point guard they've been missing. Plus, staying in the Eastern Conference could make the road to the NBA Playoffs a little easier for Kemba.

The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the toughest teams to get a read as we head into the summer. On one hand, they have LeBron James, and any team with The King is usually in win-now mode. However, the rest of the Lakers' roster is comprised of talented young players who have yet to realize their full potential. Adding Kemba could give the Lakers a second All-Star to pair with James, and the team's front office could then try and package some of its assets in order to create a Big Three, similar to what LeBron had in Miami. Additionally, Walker could fill the role Kyrie Irving played during LeBron's 2016 NBA Championship with Cleveland.

2. New York Knicks

While the New York Knicks have most notably been linked to superstars like Kevin Durant and Irving, whether or not they actually sign either player remains to be seen. The Knicks traded their most-prized asset in Kristaps Porzingis in order to create an extra max spot for this summer, so coming away empty-handed is likely not an option. Kemba is a great consolation prize if the Knicks don't manage to pair Irving and Durant. Additionally, Walker is a Bronx native, so signing with the Knicks would be somewhat of a homecoming for Cardiac Kemba.

Signing Kemba could be a great way to complete what has been an impressive rebuild for the Dallas Mavericks, one centered around likely NBA Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic. Kemba is a dangerous scorer and could instantly become the No. 1 option on the Mavericks, allowing Doncic to serve as the team's primary distributor. Additionally, if Porzingis is healthy, and legally cleared to play, the 7-footer could complete a Big Three of its own in Dallas.
