DeMar DeRozan remains one of the most exciting veteran guards/forward wings in the NBA, even despite his age of 32. NBA free agency begins at 6 p.m. on August 2, and there should be a handful of suitors vying for the four-time All-Star.

Let's take a look at three potential teams that could sign DeMar DeRozan.

DeMar DeRozan Free Agency

1. Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks enter the NBA offseason with some of the biggest potential cap space, according to their $33.5 million mark on Sportrac. It's a sure-thing the Mavericks will sign superstar Luka Doncic to an impressive extension but it's time for Dallas to surround Doncic with the playmakers he needs. One route is the addition of DeRozan to offer Doncic a second playmaker. While playing mainly as a forward his last season in San Antonio, the veteran playmaker averaged 6.9 assists per game while netting a 50.5 effective field goal percentage. DeRozan is a perfect option to lead the Mavs offense with Luka off the court and provide their young superstar with some much needed minutes of rest.

2. Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies will also be players in NBA free agency with their projected salary cap space of $37 million after declining Justice Winslow's option. DeRozan may require upwards of $27 million after earning that in San Antonio last season. It's all about sacrificing defense for a better offense with this potential free-agent signing. With Ja Morant, Memphis netted their highest offensive rating (112.0) in franchise history. This team is still known for its physicality, but DeRozan may work better in an offense centered around Morant. The veteran forward did shoot just 25.7 percent from deep last year, but with so much defensive attention around Morant, that number could improve drastically.

3. Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers do not nearly have the same amount of wiggle room as the two previous teams on this list, but they get an honorable mention for the LA factor. DeRozan hails from Los Angeles and many suspected he might end up with the Lakers before the Russell Westbrook deal. Now, DeRozan's only option of playing in his home city comes from the Clippers. Kawhi Leonard's impending contract makes this one tough, but a sign and trade deal could potentially happen with players such as Patrick Beverley or Marcus Morris. DeRozan would still need to take a pay cut in this tricky situation, but never say never.
