MLB Insider Dubs White Sox Potential Trade Destination for Streaking Starting Pitcher

The Chicago White Sox have been one of the biggest disappointments in the 2022 MLB season, but all hope isn't gone just yet. The MLB trade deadline gives the White Sox a chance to upgrade their roster and with three months left to play, there's plenty of time to turn things around.
Chicago's starting rotation has been hit or miss, making it one of the top areas for general manager Rick Hahn to address. One pitcher that MLB insider Mark Feinsand could see the White Sox pursuing is streaky Arizona Diamondbacks starter Zach Davies.

White Sox Trade Rumors
All signs point to the Diamondbacks likely being sellers by August's deadline, sitting second-last in the NL West with a 33-41 record. Fellow insider Bradford Doolittle reported nearly two weeks ago that Davies is one player that Arizona is entertaining offers for.
In terms of the 2022 season as a whole, Davies has improved over last year's performance. He's 2-4 in 15 starts, pitching to a 3.94 ERA and 1.200 WHIP. Unfortunately, it's been inconsistencies that have held him back.
On one hand, he had a bumpy start to the campaign, pitching to a 4.84 ERA in the first two months of the season. On the other hand, he's been dominant in June. While he doesn't have a win yet this month, Davies has a 2.56 ERA with 25 strikeouts over 31.2 innings in five starts this month.
If the White Sox can get the June version of Davies, their starting rotation would receive a big bump. He might have his occasional struggles, but he'd easily be an improvement over the play from the likes of Lucas Giolito and Dallas Keuchel.
White Sox World Series Odds
The White Sox could use Davies to help them remind doubters as to why they were World Series contenders before the 2022 MLB season began. In the meantime, Chicago sits at +2500 odds (No. 9) to win this year's championship, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
