Mike Evans Injury Update Clouds Week 14 Fantasy Outlook

Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Mike Evans has provided fantastic production this season on the field and in fantasy as Tom Brady's favorite touchdown target in the team's first 12 games. However, Evans was downgraded to out for Thursday's practice, which casts a cloud on his Week 14 fantasy outlook.

Mike Evans Fantasy Outlook
It's cause for at least a little alarm since Evans was limited in Wednesday's practice as well with this surprise hamstring injury. A hamstring is never an ideal injury for any wideout, but hopefully Evans can overcome it and participate in practice on Friday or Saturday.
The 6-foot-5 Evans continues to be one of the league's premier scoring threats, racking up 11 receiving touchdowns this season (fourth most in the league) in 12 games. He's turning 6.8 targets into 4.0 receptions and 51.1 yards per game.
Evans has been a high-end WR2 this season, ranking as WR18 in PPR fantasy points. He is among the most consistent producers in the league, failing to hit double-digit fantasy points in just three games this season.
Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Evans' status heading into his team's Week 14 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. If he's good to go, have little doubts about starting him against a Vikings defense that is allowing the fourth-most fantasy points per game (41.96) to WRs this season.
Chris Godwin Fantasy Outlook
If Evans can't suit up, Chris Godwin fantasy managers should benefit. Godwin actually leads in Evans in receptions, 49-48, despite the former only playing in eight games this season. Godwin could become Brady's touchdown target if Evans is out.
