Mets Get Great News on Jacob deGrom Injury Update

The New York Mets have had a rollercoaster of a 2021 MLB season so far. After being pegged as one of the favorites to win the NL East, a 14-13 record finds the Mets in second-place in the division, one game behind the Philadelphia Phillies for first. However, FanDuel Sportsbook still projects the Mets to be the division winners with odds set at +120.
If the Mets want to overthrow the Phillies, they're going to need help from their ace, Jacob deGrom. The two-time NL Cy Young winner was scratched from a scheduled start on Tuesday due to lat tightness and has remained out of the lineup.
Fortunately, Mets fans will be able to see their superstar pitcher back in action by the end of the weekend.
Jacob deGrom (right lat inflammation) "is ready to roll for tomorrow," according to GM Zack Scott.

Jacob deGrom Injury Update
MLB.com writer Anthony DiComo reported on Saturday that Mets general manager Zack Scott said that deGrom is "ready to roll" for a battle with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday.
He has been on fire this season, putting up more Cy Young-quality numbers. He has a 2-2 record through five starts, but those losses aren't on him as he has a 0.51 ERA to show for it. The ace is also averaging a career-low 4.1 hits per nine innings, which would go a long way in helping the Mets chase a World Series.
In fact, the team currently has the fourth-best odds (+950) to win the championship, trailing just the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees and San Diego Padres.
With deGrom returning to the lineup on Sunday, the Mets just might be set up for success for the remainder of the season.
