Tensions flared between the New York Mets and Washington Nationals when All-Star shortstop Francisco Lindor was nailed with a scary hit by pitch up near his head on Friday night.

That's been a recurring theme just two games into this Opening Day series. Pete Alonso was also drilled up near his head on Thursday and New York has been hit by a pitch four different times across two games.

Although tensions were high, Mets fans were more concerned about the health of their superstar shortstop. Lindor exited the game immediately. Fortunately, his latest injury update is a sigh of relief.

Not only did the x-rays on his jaw come back clean, but Lindor also passed concussion protocol.

It's unclear if Lindor will be in the lineup on Saturday. The Mets may opt to give him a cautionary day of rest, but he's been tabbed with a clean bill of health.
