The Teddy Bridgewater experiment at quarterback only lasted a single season for the Carolina Panthers. Bridgewater was average during his 2020 season, but the Panthers ultimately went in another direction and acquired Sam Darnold from the New York Jets. Bridgewater ended up with the Denver Broncos on a very favorable deal and it seemed like this whole situation was just the business of football.

But, after a series of media interviews this past week, it looks like there's more to this story. Bridgewater started off with an appearance on the All Things Covered show hosted by Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden. He lightly criticized some of the Panthers' weekly practice routines but remained professional throughout the interview.

Then, on Wednesday, Panthers coach Matt Rhule clapped back and straight-up called Bridgewater out for these comments.

After hearing this criticism from Bridgewater, Rhule responded that he was mainly "disappointed" in the comments. He also remained rather civil and went on to praise Bridgewater as the "ultimate competitor."

Bridgewater's main source of criticism surrounded his claims that the Panthers didn't spend a ton of time practicing red zone or two-minutessituations. The results definitely showed as Carolina ranked with the fourth-worst red-zone efficiency last season.

It looks like there isn't any major love lost between Bridgewater and his former team, but still, these comments surrounding the Panthers practice schedule were pretty revealing.
