It has been an offseason to forget for Green Bay Packers fans as rumors continue to swirl around starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers. It is possible that he returns to the team, gets traded, or even retires from football. No matter what, things are not running smoothly right now.
However, Matt LaFleur seems desperate to mend his relationship with the reigning MVP. He knows how important Rodgers is to the success of the team and can't just go down without a fight. Besides, LaFleur does have an impressive 26-6 regular season record as the Packers head coach.
At this point, everything is going to come down to what Rodgers wants to do. It doesn't seem like he can be swayed by contract extension talks or organizational moves anymore. LaFleur is simply caught in the middle right now and wants to have his signal-caller back in the huddle in Week 1.
All things considered, LaFleur is basically saying what every Packers fan is thinking. He wants it all to be figured out since Rodgers lit up the league last season throwing for 4,299 yards, 48 touchdowns and just 5 interceptions. Plus, he has led Green Bay to two straight NFC Championship appearances.
This is a storyline that seems to be far from over and it will be one to watch throughout training camp. Aaron Rodgers has spent all 16 of his NFL seasons in Green Bay, but the question remains as to whether or not that number will increase to 17.
