The Chicago Bears sideline will look a lot different next season as new head coach Matt Eberflus fills out his coaching staff. The team is expected to hire Packers quarterbacks coach Luke Getsy as offensive coordinator after he missed out on the job in Green Bay in favor of Adam Stenavich.

Bears Offensive Coordinator

Getsy will be tasked with turning around a passing attack that averaged just 188.6 passing yards per game and 9.7 yards per completion in 2021. Both of those marks ranked bottom 10 in the NFL. The good news is that he does have a talented, young quarterback to work with in Justin Fields.

Meanwhile, the Packers fielded an MVP candidate in QB Aaron Rodgers and finished fourth in the NFL with 39 passing touchdowns compared to 7 interceptions. Getsy has played a key role in keeping the 38-year-old signal-caller prepared since he was hired as the quarterbacks coach back in 2019.

It's worth noting that Getsy did interview with the Denver Broncos for their head coaching position before fellow Packers' coach Nathaniel Hackett landed the job. He will now take over play-calling duties for the Bears and will be looking to improve an offense that averaged 18.3 points per game (No. 27 in NFL).

It'll be interesting to see if Getsy implements any of the offensive tactics that have made Green Bay so successful over the last few seasons. Chicago fans may be seeing a lot of pre-snap motion, heavy RPO usage and screen plays as the Bears aim to win their first NFC North title since 2018.
