Mark Ingram Injury Update Could Give Gus Edwards Fantasy Outlook a Huge Boost for Divisional Round

With the No. 1 seed locked up in Week 16, the Baltimore Ravens rested their starters in Week 17 and had a first-round bye last weekend. Even with all that time off, Mark Ingram is clearly still banged up, calling his status for Saturday's Divisional Round matchup with the Tennessee Titans into question.

The fact that he "has a chance" to play as of Tuesday afternoon is not overly encouraging after he was considered "on track" to play per head coach John Harbaugh last week. If Ingram can't go, look for Gus Edwards' workload to expand in a big way.

Gus Edwards Fantasy Outlook

With Ingram out in Week 17, Edwards handled 21 carries and saw one target. He also had 12 carries in 30 snaps when Ingram left early in Week 16 and saw 14 carries in 32 snaps when Ingram left early in a Week 12 blowout against the Los Angeles Rams.

The Ravens are heavy 9.5-point favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook, and we can expect to see their usual run-heavy approach in this game. Even if Ingram does play, Edwards could see an increased role in an effort to keep Ingram fresh for the rest of Baltimore's potential postseason run.

Ingram has been very effective in the Baltimore offense, but don't expect a potential absence to impact the betting line much in this one. The offense runs through Lamar Jackson, and Edwards would likely fill in seamlessly.

If he plays, Ingram checks in at RB2 in our Divisional Round fantasy football rankings. If Ingram doesn't play, Edwards will jump up and become a top-five option instead.
