The Seattle Mariners played near-perfect baseball in Game 1 of the 2022 AL Wild Card series. Luis Castillo dominated the imposing Toronto Blue Jays lineup and tossed 7.1 innings of no-run baseball. Andres Munoz continued the shutdown and finished the remaining 1.2 innings without allowing a single run.

Seattle walked away with a convincing 4-0 Game 1 victory, and now look to eliminate the Blue Jays in front of a Toronto crowd.

Manager Scott Servais revealed his Game 2 lineup ahead of first pitch, scheduled for 4:07 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Mariners Game 2 Lineup

Aside from a small wrinkle in the order, the lineup is identical to Game 1. The main change stems from second baseman Adam Frazier moving up to the sixth spot ahead of DH Carlos Santana. Left fielder Jarred Kelenic drops one spot and J.P. Crawford rounds out the the bottom prior to Julio Rodriguez in the leadoff.

Frazier looked more comfortable than Santana in Game 1, going 1-for-4 compared to Santana's 0-for-4 effort with a pair of strikeouts. The All-Star infielder also touts an impressive .406 batting average in 32 career at-bats against Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman.

It will be interesting to see if this small Game 2 lineup wrinkle can boost the Mariners offense to some more run scoring. Their four-run shutout in Game 1 was impressive, but the Blue Jays have too deep of a lineup to shut down in back-to-back starts. Toronto ranked fourth in baseball with 4.8 runs scored on offense in 2022.

As is stands, the Mariners enter Game 2 as +152 underdogs, according to MLB odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
