Tournament records continue to fall as the 2022 NCAA Tournament enters the Elite 8. Heading into Round 2, bracket pool participants were excited and top seeds were still alive. But only one of the top five favorites with odds to win the NCAA Tournament remain from the expected winners. In fact, two rounds later through the Sweet Sixteen, only Kansas, Duke, Villanova and Arkansas remain among the top 16 seeded teams.
Saint Peter's as a No. 15 seed is the first 13th seed or higher to ever reach the Elite Eight. And the Peacocks play No. 8 North Carolina with the winner moving on to the Final Four in New Orleans, LA.
Another double-digit seed is alive with No. 10 Miami moving through the Midwest Region to play the only remaining No. 1 seed, Kansas. Houston as a No. 5 seed took out No. 1 Arizona and is the only team remaining that can make it back-to-back Final Fours after the Cougars reached college basketball's pinnacle last year.
