The first full day of March Madness tips off on Friday, March 19, and big money is piling in on No. 1 seed Illinois. The Fighting Illini tip off opening round action against the No. 16 seed Drexel Dragons on Friday, March 19 at 1:15 p.m. ET. Fans can watch the college basketball action on TBS from Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis.

Illinois is one of the most likely teams to make the Final Four, and FanDuel Sportsbook also has their odds to win the NCAA Championship at +600.

Illinois vs Drexel Betting

Money at FanDuel Sportsbook continues to pile in on the Fighting Illini. The current betting line is up to -23 and the total is down a point to 143.5. A check of the betting data at OddsFire shows 63% of the bets and 86% of the spread money supporting Illinois.

Drexel (12-7) only played 19 games this season and had a losing record in the Colonial Athletic Association before running through the conference tournament to secure the NCAA Tournament automatic bid. The Dragons defense is a liability, ranking No. 247 in adjusted efficiency, according to KenPom.

Illinois (23-6) has two dominant All-Big Ten players in 7-foot center Kofi Cockburn (17.6 points per game) and guard Ayo Dosunmu (20.7 PPG), who also was named first team All-American by the Associated Press. The Fighting Illini rank top-7 in both offensive and defensive efficiency, and Illinois had the most Quadrant 1 wins in the country against stronger teams with 12.

Bettors are riding Illinois in Round 1 against Drexel, and all the way to the championship. FanDuel Sportsbook has more money on Illinois to cut down the nets than another other team except Michigan.
