Drexel (12-7) only played 19 games this season and had a losing record in the Colonial Athletic Association before running through the conference tournament to secure the NCAA Tournament automatic bid. The Dragons defense is a liability, ranking No. 247 in adjusted efficiency, according to KenPom.
Illinois (23-6) has two dominant All-Big Ten players in 7-foot center Kofi Cockburn (17.6 points per game) and guard Ayo Dosunmu (20.7 PPG), who also was named first team All-American by the Associated Press. The Fighting Illini rank top-7 in both offensive and defensive efficiency, and Illinois had the most Quadrant 1 wins in the country against stronger teams with 12.
