The first full day of March Madness tips off on Friday, March 19, and big money is piling in on No. 1 seed Baylor.

The Bears tip off opening round action against the No. 16 seed Hartford Hawks on Friday, March 19 at 1:15 p.m. ET. Fans can watch the college basketball action on TBS from Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis.

Baylor vs Hartford Betting

Money keeps pouring in on Baylor at FanDuel Sportsbook. The Bears are up to a 26-point favorite and the total sits at 140.5. Baylor has taken 61% of the spread bets and 86% of the money laying 26-points. Most bettors are also expecting more scoring, with just more than 60% of the over/under bets and money on the Over.

Hartford (15-8) finished fourth in the American East, but the Hawks pulled off four straight wins in the conference tournament to earn the automatic NCAA Tournament bid. Senior guard Austin Williams carried Hartford to the Big Dance scoring 20 points per game in the conference tournament after averaging 12.3 PPG during the regular season.

Based on the Final Four odds, Baylor is one of the favorites to reach the Final Four (+110) and win the championship (+600). Junior guards Jared Butler and Davion Mitchell were All-Big 12 performers for Baylor (22-2), and led the team in scoring, assists and steals.

Baylor went through a three-week COVID break starting in early February, during which they did not play any games. The Bears lost some of their rhythm and momentum, but have maintained a top-3 spot in the college basketball polls.

Baylor ranks top-3 in the country in KenPom's ratings of field goal percentage, offensive rebounding, 3-point shooting and overall adjusted offensive efficiency.

Even with one of the largest point spreads for any Round 1 matchup, the public clearly thinks that Baylor isn't going to have much of an issue covering in this one.
