Malcolm Brown Fantasy Outlook Comes With Upside as Touchdown Vulture

The Miami Dolphin's backfield is suddenly very crowded with the likes of Myles Gaskin, Malcolm Brown and Salvon Ahmed all expected to be involved on offense. However, only one of them has the upside of being a touchdown vulture in fantasy football this season and that is the veteran Brown.

Malcolm Brown Fantasy Outlook
Brown has put together a surprising training camp and preseason. While the seventh-year pro may be the No. 2 back on the depth chart, but he will be seeing meaningful snaps right away.
Meanwhile, Gaskin hasn't done anything this past offseason to prove he should be a workhorse for head coach Brian Flores. He also has a bit of an injury history after he was forced to miss six games last season due to a knee issue.
The one thing Brown has proven he can do over the course of his NFL career is get into the end zone. The 27-year-old has put together back-to-back seasons with 5 rushing touchdowns despite seeing just 170 total carries during that span. His ability to pound the ball up the middle in short-yard situations certainly makes him stand out.
The 2020 season was Brown's best fantasy performance yet as he posted a career-high 581 yards from scrimmage. He enters the fall with enough upside to be stashed on fantasy manager's benches in hopes that he can overtake the starting role at some point during the NFL season.

FantasyPros' average draft position data shows that Brown is being drafted at No. 199 overall and No. 58 amongst RBs in PPR leagues. He is the perfect late-round target for fantasy managers looking to go heavy at wide receiver early on and a must-draft player for anyone taking Gaskin as a starting RB.
