Luke Getsy Provides Another Justin Fields Injury Update

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields' breakout campaign was put to a screeching halt when he suffered an injury to his shoulder back in Week 11. The second-year QB had been improving steadily as a passer and showing off his unique skillset as a runner.
Fields ultimately missed Week 12 because of the injury and on Thursday, Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy provided an update regarding Fields' chances of playing on Sunday.
We'll see Justin Fields at practice shortly. Here's Luke Getsy's assessment: "He's kind of in the same boat as last week - day to day. Getting better. Taking some reps like he did last week. We'll kind of play that thing out as the week goes just like we did last week."

Justin Fields Injury Update
Fields earned a limited participant tag at Wednesday's practice and is expected to at least suit up again on Thursday. According to Getsy, his QB's situation is similar to last week in that it's "day-to-day." Getsy explained that Fields is "getting better" and "taking some reps" like last week, but the team will continue to take things slow with its franchise signal-caller.
The news will likely be frustrating for Bears nation. While Fields is clearly on the mend, he was listed as questionable last week and even warmed up prior to Chicago's 1 p.m. ET kickoff before being ruled out against the New York Jets. The Jets proceeded to obliterate the Bears, 31-10.
Chicago plays the Green Bay Packers on Sunday and will need Fields at full strength in order to pull off the upset against Aaron Rodgers and co. According to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds, the Bears are 3-point home underdogs for this NFC North clash.
