Latest Brandon Belt Injury Update is Great News for Giants

The San Francisco Giants sit atop a loaded NL West to start the month of August, and they've impressively stayed ahead in the division race without first baseman Brandon Belt. The former World Series champ has been on the shelf since June 23 with a right knee injury, taking a major source of production out of San Francisco's lineup.
However, after a rehab stint, Belt appears ready to make his return.

Brandon Belt Return
Belt is expected to be activated off of the injured list on Thursday ahead of the Giants' series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks, which is fantastic news.
The 33-year-old provided major pop over the first couple months of the season, recording 11 home runs and 28 RBI over 55 games. He was also slashing .253/.363/.512 before his knee injury.
The return of Belt and Tommy La Stella will give the Giants a boost as they look to hold off the Los Angeles Dodgers down the stretch. San Fran owns the second-best odds (+135) to win the NL West, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
