The Los Angeles Lakers have had very few positive developments this season. The MVP-caliber play of Anthony Davis, however, was certainly one of those things, at least until he suffered an injury to his right foot last week.
Anthony Davis Injury Update
Davis was on a tear this season, averaging 27.4 points per game to go along with 12.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists despite missing some time. Now, he'll be on the shelf indefinitely.
This isn't exactly uncharted waters for Davis, who has struggled with injuries to every part of his body for the majority of his career, but this injury is happening at a very inopportune time for the Lakers, who are attempting to claw their way back into the playoff picture after a terrible start to the season.
Los Angeles is currently 13th in the Western Conference at 13-18 despite the presence of fellow stars LeBron James and Russell Westbrook. It's going to be even harder now for the team to stay afloat without Davis, much less get back in the postseason race.
The Lakers are currently +7000 longshots to win the NBA Finals on FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds.
