The NFL MVP race has been an intriguing one all season. Some years, it's pretty clear early on who will be taking home the award, or at least the same one or two guys are atop the odds all year.

But the 2019 race has been a different beast. The beginning of the year saw the usual suspects, Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees and Tom Brady toward the top of the list, but as the season progressed, it seems like another name leads the way each and every week.

Now, with Week 12 in the books, Lamar Jackson is the first odds-on favorite to win the award, at -200, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Russell Wilson still remains second in the odds at +270, but after that, there is a stark drop off. Deshaun Watson registers with the third-best odds, but he's sitting at +1000.

Jackson's jump to the top of the odds follows a dazzling performance on "Monday Night Football" that saw him throw for five touchdowns in a blowout win over the Los Angeles Rams. Wilson, who struggled by his standards against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12, still has near-identical numbers to Jackson through 12 weeks.

It looks like this MVP race will come down to the wire, being awarded to whichever quarterback can continue putting up show-stopping performances during the stretch run. While it seems to be a two-man sprint to the finish, Jackson is the clear leader for the first time this season.
