The San Francisco 49ers are busy preparing for the start of free agency on March 15. With several players testing the market and salary cap constraints, the team will have to carefully decide which contributors it wants to re-sign for 2023.

Well, it turns out one key 49er has already made a decision on his future in San Fran.

Kicker Robbie Gould has made it clear he's testing the open market this offseason, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The insider added Gould intends to be "kicking elsewhere" this upcoming season.

This breakup comes as a bit of surprise following a very fruitful partnership between San Francisco and the veteran kicker. During his six seasons in the Bay, Gould led the league in field goals made (2017) and field goal percentage (2018) while connecting on 87.5% of his FG attempts.

The former Pro Bowler was even better in the playoffs, making this a huge loss for this NFC contender.

It'd be no surprise to see San Fran actively scout the position ahead of April's draft as the team looks for its next long-term solution.
