Here's Why Kenny Golladay is the Perfect Target for Daniel Jones

Daniel Jones has had an up and down first two years as a starter in the NFL. On one hand, the Giants haven't exactly given him much to work with, but he also hasn't done himself too many favors. While his turnovers have certainly been his biggest flaw, he also has some really bright spots in his game. One of the most notable is his success throwing deep down the field.

This becomes even more impressive when you take into account the fact that Jones has never had a true No. 1 wide receiver. Golden Tate has lined up in that spot for much of the past two seasons, but he isn't a true No. 1 option.

Heading into free agency, getting a No. 1 wideout became a top priority for the Giants. And with Allen Robinson and Chris Godwin both getting tagged, former Detroit Lions wide receiver Kenny Golladay quickly became the best one available.

And when you look at the numbers, he would be a perfect fit for Jones' strengths.

The last time we saw Golladay play a full season (2019), he led the league on receptions that traveled 20-plus yards downfield (16), per ProFootballFocus. He also finished second in receiving yards (628) and touchdowns (5) on such throws.

Pairing the quarterback with the best passer rating down the field with one of the league's best deep threats seems like a match made in heaven. Signing Golladay seems like it could really help Jones take the next step.
