Keenan Allen didn't have too much to apologize for through three weeks of the 2019 season, as the Los Angeles Chargers vet was one of the top wide receivers in fantasy with 29 receptions for 404 yards and three touchdowns. Since then, however, Allen has been in a prolonged statistical slump (by his standards) with zero touchdowns or 100-yard performances in his past five games.

Whether he was apologizing for the whole stretch of mediocrity or just his Week 8 performance against the Chicago Bears (seven catches for 53 yards), Allen was quick to reach out to the fantasy football community and make amends for the lack of points.

While Allen was likely still in a good mood, as the Chargers got a much-needed win against the Bears, he clearly isn't satisfied with his lack of recent production. One of the game's biggest competitors, Allen will look to bounce back in Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers, although the matchup is far from ideal. Jaire Alexander has become one of the league's top corners, and could shadow Allen all game next week.

The one thing that will continue to benefit Allen in fantasy football is workload, as he is coming off back-to-back weeks of 10 or more targets. Expect things to start moving in a positive direction for Allen in the touchdown department, with favorable matchups coming up against the Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs in Weeks 10 and 11.
