The Los Angeles Chargers' QB situation is in flux no longer. After the departure of Philip Rivers, they were connected to just about every free agent passer on the market this offseason. Ultimately, they went with the path of youth, however, selecting Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert with the No. 6 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

It looks like the Chargers will bring their potential franchise QB along slowly, however, as FanDuel Sportsbook has him as a huge underdog to Tyrod Taylor in the odds to be the Chargers' starter for Week 1 of the 2020 season.

Taylor is certainly full of confidence for the season, and to his credit he's been a solid producer at the NFL level. In three years as the Buffalo Bills' starter he averaged 7.4 adjusted yards per pass attempt (AY/A), which would have been good for 13th among qualifying passers in 2019.

Still, the lopsided odds are pretty shocking considering how much the team just invested in Herbert. Taylor is a massive -370 favorite, compared to +260 odds for Herbert.

Looking at the implied probability, that suggests Taylor (78.7 percent) is more than twice as likely as Herbert to get the nod for Week 1.

Of course, training camp and the preseason can always shake things up drastically, and whether Herbert wins the job in Week 1 or not, the plans are obviously for him to be the long-term starter in L.A.
