Joe Flacco has yet to play a snap of football since Zach Wilson returned from his preseason injury in Week 4. That was always part of the plan, but Flacco was poised to serve as a reliable backup for the young gunslinger throughout the year.

Unfortunately, things changed ahead of Week 9. The Jets opted to designate Flacco as inactive ahead of Sunday's tilt with the Buffalo Bills. Mike White was placed ahead of him on the depth chart.

Flacco recently shared his reaction to the situation.

“Of course I was surprised and I’m disappointed about it. But at the same time, got to keep it about the team, try not to be a selfish guy and make my situation any more unique than anybody else’s situation..." said Flacco.

To no surprise, this is a very mature response from the 15-year NFL veteran.

Flacco or not, the Jets enter this Week 9 clash as massive 11.5-point home underdogs, according to NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
