Jets Rumors: New York Closing in on Morgan Moses Free-Agent Signing
By Larry Rupp

Free agent offensive lineman Morgan Moses was released by the Washington Football Team earlier this offseason in order to save $7.735 million in cap space. Well, it looks like the seven-year veteran may be joining a new team soon as he is reportedly close to a deal with the New York Jets.
The #Jets and OT Morgan Moses are making progress on a potential multi-year deal, per source. Nothing done but Jets considered favorite and have made a compelling push to sign the seven-year veteran. Other teams have been involved, too.

Nothing is official quite yet, but the Jets remain the favorites to sign Moses to a multi-year contract. Although the 30-year-old tackle visited the Jets last month, Moses left without a deal in place and was said to be receiving interest from other NFL teams. It looks like the Jets are determined to sign him, though.
This pairing makes a lot of sense as the Jets need to upgrade the offensive line and have over $27 million in cap space available, according to overthecap.com. Moses would seemingly take over the starting right tackle role from George Fant and create a scary duo with left tackle Mekhi Becton.
Moses has started every regular season game over the last six seasons and hasn't dealt with any major injuries in his career. He is the definition of consistency and is coming off a great 2020 season. In fact, Moses was rated as the 18th-best tackle in the NFL last year by ProFootballFocus.
Moses would be a great get for this rebuilding Jets team. First-year head coach Robert Saleh will be looking to lead this squad to the playoffs for the first time since 2010. The Jets currently have odds set at +490 to reach the postseason, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
