After dealing with a shoulder injury, 21-year-old prospect Jesús Luzardo has been off the fantasy radar for quite some time. But with weak spots in the Oakland Athletics' rotation, the A's might call up Luzardo soon, which would make him an intriguing fantasy waiver wire pickup at the next level.
LHP Jesus Luzardo gave up a HR in the 2nd. He's now allowed 1 run on 3 hits with 1 walk & 2 Ks thru 2 IP for Vegas. 33 pitches, 19 for strikes. Has hit 99 mph on the stadium gun.

The left-handed prospect has now strung together three impressive consecutive showings at the Triple-A level, posting a 1-0 record with a 2.61 ERA through 10 1/3 innings pitched over that stretch.
With 23 combined starts and 109 1/3 innings pitched across three Minor League levels last season, Luzardo put up a 2.88 ERA with 10.6 strikeouts per nine innings. If not for his rotator cuff injury, Luzardo could have even started the season in Oakland's MLB rotation. However, this reality will likely come sooner rather than later if he continues at this pace.

Currently, Luzardo is being stashed in just 31 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues. This percentage is also likely to continue rising as a potential callup draws closer with each day, so it could prove wise to jump on this prospect before anyone else in your fantasy league does.
