Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings kicked off the 2022 season with a bang in Week 1, trouncing the Green Bay Packers 23-7. Jefferson tore up Green Bay's secondary to the tune of 184 yards and 2 touchdowns in that divisional clash.
However, Jaire Alexander had a salty take on Jefferson's performance before their rematch this weekend.
The Packers CB said Jefferson's outing was a "fluke." Alexander went on to downplay Jefferson's talents, stating he's not overly concerned about containing the Vikings star because he believes in Green Bay's defense to do its job.
Alexander has clearly given Minnesota's stud wideout some bulletin-board material ahead of Week 17. Jefferson's proven big outings are anything but a "fluke" during his illustrious young career. His 184 yards against Green Bay isn't even his season high, as he popped off for 193 in Week 10 and 223 in Week 14.
Jefferson and the Vikings already had motivation to beat the Packers down again with Green Bay's playoff hopes hanging by a thread. Now Alexander has just added further fuel to the fire, and it'd be no surprise to see his comments come back to bite him.
The Vikings are slated as 3-point underdogs on the road in Week 17, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
