Jaguars Fans Welcome Trevor Lawrence With Amazing Gesture

The 2021 NFL Draft hasn't even begun yet and it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that Trevor Lawrence will be a Jacksonville Jaguar.
The Clemson quarterback is regarded as the best prospect in the draft and has been projected to go first overall for quite some time. The Jaguars hold the No. 1 selection and will build their future around Lawrence for years to come.
Keeping that in mind, while nothing is official yet, that hasn't stopped Jaguars fans from trying to make Lawrence feel welcomed.
Lawrence and his fiancé Marissa Mowry are getting married on April 10. Twitter user @E_Dilla then came up with the idea to organize a crowdfunding campaign with other Jaguars fans to buy gifts from the couple's registry list. Eventually, the campaign had enough to buy a toaster that was on the list, but that didn't stop money from coming in.
Gotta believe the Trevor Lawrence story and Jaguars Twitter love will be all over the place by end of weekend. Started yesterday afternoon. Really one of the cool things about social media. https://t.co/9fPBIM4zNf

Individuals began directly purchasing items for Lawrence and Mowry. @E_Dilla added that any excess money that was sent to him would be donated towards a charity of the quarterback's choice. As of 12 p.m. EST on April 10, @E_Dilla tweeted that over $5600 has been raised.
While Lawrence will be able to afford almost anything he wants once he starts making money in the NFL, this gesture by Jaguars fans shows that he'll be more than just another quarterback to them. This is the franchise's opportunity to turn things around and the fans have shown Lawrence nothing but support.
Lawrence will have lofty expectations once he finally makes his NFL debut. Whether or not he meets them right away remains to be seen. But one thing is for certain: Jaguars fans have his back.
