Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins logged his second straight day of full practice on Thursday, and it's causing a lot of speculation around his fantasy outlook heading into Week 2.

Dobbins missed the Ravens' season-opener as he continued to rehab from last year's preseason ACL tear. However, his two straight full practices show the third-year back trending towards an activation against the Miami Dolphins.

While fantasy managers should continue to wait for official word from the Ravens, they are also wondering, is it safe to slot Dobbins immediately into the starting lineup?

J.K. Dobbins Injury Update

Unfortunately, the answer isn't as easy as an automatic yes.

Dobbins hasn't played a live snap of regular-season football since 2020. It's a big ask to assume he'll step immediately into a workhorse role.

J.K. Dobbins Fantasy Outlook

Dobbins is poised to take over No. 1 RB responsibilities on the Ravens depth chart, especially after a dismal performance in Week 1. Baltimore managed just 63 rushing yards in a convincing 24-9 win over the New York Jets. This also included just 11 rushing attempts from Baltimore's leading rusher Kenyan Drake.

The Dolphins' rush defense is no cupcake, either. Miami held the New England Patriots to just 65 rushing yards and 3.5 yards per attempt.

We also need to see exactly how offensive coordinator Greg Roman utilizes Dobbins upon his proposed return. At best, Dobbins takes over the sort of workload Drake carried in Week 1. There's no reason to rush Dobbins into a heavy workload, and no reason to rush him into your starting lineup as a result.

At best, Dobbins projects for a low-level FLEX option. He ranks as RB31 on The Duel's Week 2 PPR rankings.
