J.J. Watt's recent release from the Houston Texans has the NFL world in a frenzy, as several contenders are hoping to land the defensive star. Watt has made it clear that he's going to take his time, which isn't what most eager fanbases want to hear.

It appears, though, that one surprising team is out of the running, according to an NFL insider.

John Clayton says that the Pittsburgh Steelers, who were among the opening favorites to land Watt, won't be acquiring soon-to-be 32-year-old.

Given Watt's connection to the organization, with his brother T.J. on the team, many thought it's where the free agent might wind up. However, Pittsburgh is short on cap space at the moment, and Watt would have to take a steep discount, which he doesn't seem willing to do right now.

It's understandable that the matchup nightmare wants to maximize his earning potential while he can still command a decent contract. The three main teams in the mix -- the Tennessee Titans, Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills -- will surely make the necessary moves to free up money if he's set on joining them.
