Is Nikola Jokic Playing Tonight? (Latest Injury Updates and News for Nuggets vs Rockets on April 4)

The Denver Nuggets are back in action Tuesday night as they face the Houston Rockets Jazz at 8 p.m. ET. One major storyline ahead of tip-off is the health of star center Nikola Jokic, who's on the injury report once again.
Nikola Jokic Injury Update (4/2/2023)
Jokic's availability is up in the air for Tuesday's contest. The MVP contender is listed as questionable due to a lingering right calf injury. It's a legit possibility the Joker rides the pine for another game, unless he shows significant progress ahead of tip-off.
#Nuggets injury report: Nikola Jokic is questionable (right calf tightness); Jamal Murray is probable (right thumb sprain); Zeke Nnaji is questionable (right knee sprain).

Jokic has missed three straight games while he tends to this injury. This matches his season-long for consecutive absences, so it's clear this issue is bothering the big man.
Denver hasn't fared well with Jokic sidelined during the 2022-23 campaign, going just 4-7 so far. The Nuggets did get a win last time out, though, defeating the Golden State Warriors 112-110 on Sunday. They could earn another victory with the lowly Rockets on tap next. Houston owns the second-worst record in the entire league and has its sights set on obtaining as high of a draft pick as possible.
With the playoffs looming, Denver will be smart in regards to Jokic's health. Having the former MVP suit up against this opponent wouldn't be the wisest decision, so it'd be no surprise if he sits again.
Nikola Jokic Fantasy Outlook and Prop Bets Today
Jokic is not listed among the available prop bets for the Nuggets-Rockets game, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds, but neither are any Denver players right now. Houston is currently projected as a 9-point underdog, signaling optimism the Nuggets can get the job done even if Jokic doesn't suit up.
Jokic is listed among the top options on the FanDuel DFS slate tonight, checking in with the third-most expensive price tag at $11,600. At 100%, Jokic is certainly worth it considering he's averaging 55.8 FanDuel fantasy points per game, but there's no guarantee he plays at his full potential if he does return. It's best to make other plans tonight.
