Is Anthony Davis Playing Tonight? (Latest Injury Updates and News for Lakers vs Rockets on April 2)
By Larry Rupp

The Los Angeles Lakers are back in action Sunday night as they face the Houston Rockets at 7 p.m. ET inside the Toyota Center. One player's status to keep an eye on ahead of tip-off is Anthony Davis, who is dealing with an ankle injury.
Anthony Davis Injury Update (4/2/2023)
Davis is expected to play against the Rockets tonight barring any setbacks as he is officially listed as probable. This development comes after the LA center went down in the third quarter on Friday after landing on Wenyen Gabriel's foot and turning his ankle. It does not seem to be a worrisome injury.

Davis was able to stay in the game and finished with 38 points and 17 rebounds in a win over the Timberwolves. He didn't look to lose much, if any, explosiveness after suffering the injury, either. The 30-year-old has been vital for the Lakers this year, averaging an impressive 12.4 rebounds per game.
Having Davis on the court may been even more crucial than usual as LeBron James is in danger of being sidelined with a foot injury. He is listed as questionable on the injury report. For now, the Lakers check in eighth in the Western Conference (39-38) and 1.0 game back of the coveted No. 6 seed.
Anthony Davis Fantasy Outlook and Prop Bets Today
Anthony Davis is listed with over/unders of 27.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists on FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds, which is a great sign for his availability tonight. I lean towards backing him to score over 27.5 points (-106) as he is averaging a reliable 28.9 points over his last eight games. The Rockets are also allowing 56.0 points in the paint over their last three contests (No. 23 in NBA).
Davis is also listed among the top options on the FanDuel DFS slate, checking in with the fifth-most expensive price tag overall ($11,500). That should come as no surprise considering he is averaging 51.9 FanDuel fantasy points per game and is facing a Houston defense that gives up the second-most fantasy points to opposing teams. Davis is a safe player to have anchor your lineup tonight.
