The Carolina Hurricanes will take on the Boston Bruins in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday night. The Bruins are favored at home (-145), according to FanDuel Sportsbook, with puck drop scheduled for 8 p.m. EST.

As it's always smart to hear what those in the industry have to say before placing a bet, here are some expert predictions for Thursday night's Game 1.

Hurricanes vs Bruins Predictions

The PicksWise staff predicts that Boston will take Game 1, thanks to their recent dominance over Carolina. The Bruins are 5-1 straight up in their last six meetings with the Hurricanes. Carolina has also lost its last four games at TD Garden.

Phil Naessens, of StatSalt, predicts that the Bruins will take Game 1. He notes that playoff series are often won and lost on special teams and that Boston has a better power play and penalty-kill unit than Carolina, giving the Bruins an added edge in Game 1.

Doc's Sports

Guy Bruhn, of Doc's Sports, predicts that the Bruins will defend home ice and take Game 1. One key stat he points to is Boston's 26 percent success rate on the power play, which could give them another advantage over Carolina on Thursday night.

That's a clean sweep with all three experts predicting a Boston win in Game 1.
