Hunter Henry has been one of the most talented tight ends in football, but his career has unfortunately been plagued by injuries, and 2019 has been much of the same. Since entering the league in 2016, Henry has played in only 30 of a possible 51 games.

After missing the entire 2018 regular season with a torn ACL, many were expecting a healthy Henry to make a big splash in both fantasy and for the Los Angeles Chargers in his return to the field this season. However, Henry suffered a tibial plateau fracture in the Chargers' season opener, which initially projected him to miss four-to-six weeks.

Hunter Henry Injury Update

While an injury of Hunter's nature is far from good, it appears as though he will be able to avoid surgery and make his return to the field this season, which is a major plus considering his season may have been in jeopardy if he were forced to go under the knife following the injury.

Tibial Plateau Fracture Recovery Time Without Surgery

Henry's tibial plateau fracture has reportedly called for a four-to-six-week recovery timetable, but if the fracture is also displaced, it could require up to three or even four months to fully heal without surgical intervention.

Regardless of the specifics tied to Henry's injury, he still has a long way to go until he could be considered fantasy relevant once again. He did, however, look solid in Week 1 prior to the injury, hauling in four receptions on five targets for 60 receiving yards in the Los Angeles Chargers' season opener.
