How the Chargers Can Clinch a Playoff Berth in Week 16

Monday Night Football in Week 16 features an AFC matchup between the Los Angeles Chargers and Indianapolis Colts.

While the 4-9-1 Colts have nothing to play for besides personal pride at this point, the 8-6 Chargers certainly do. In fact, they could clinch a postseason spot with a victory on Monday.

If Los Angeles defeats Indianapolis, the Chargers will improve to 9-6 and secure their first playoff berth since 2018. It would also guarantee the first postseason appearance of Justin Herbert's career since he debuted in 2020.

Los Angeles shouldn't have too much trouble pulling out a win in Week 16. The Chargers are coming off back-to-back wins over the Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins, both of whom are potentially playoff-bound. The Colts, on the other hand, have lost four straight games under interim head coach Jeff Saturday and seven of their last eight overall. They're also coming off the biggest collapse in NFL history after blowing a 33-point lead to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 15.

With both teams going in opposite directions, it's not surprising to see Los Angeles favored by 3.5 points against Indianapolis on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
