The Houston Texans fell short of their ultimate goal in the 2020 NFL Playoffs after the Kansas City Chiefs pulled off a tremendous comeback down 24-0 and eliminated the Texans from Super Bowl contention.

The Chiefs went on to win the Lombardi Trophy, which no doubt added to the bad taste left in the mouth of a Texans' team that had the future champs on the ropes. No team led KC by more points throughout their playoff run, and despite this, Houston (+3200) currently has only the 15th-best odds at winning the Super Bowl in 2021, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Like the Green Bay Packers (+2200) and Seattle Seahawks (+2000), this immediately intrigues, with 2020 non-playoff teams like the Dallas Cowboys (+1700), Los Angeles Rams (+2000), Pittsburgh Steelers (+2200) and Cleveland Browns (+3000) getting better odds right now. I mean come on, the Browns have had four head coaches in the last three years if you count Gregg Williams.

It isn't as if the Texans are an aging team either, as quarterback Deshaun Watson is 24 years old and is already off to a great start to his NFL career. The former Clemson All-American has progressed into an exceptional dual threat in the NFL, with 3,852 yards passing 413 yards rushing this season. The young leader would be the first person to tell you he has more to learn, but Watson is certainly on the right path.

With veteran superstars like wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, defensive end J.J. Watt, edge rusher Whitney Mercilus, and plenty of talent to go around, this is a team that will not only expect to compete next season, but they will expect to win.

The upside is obviously there for this Houston squad, as they showed early in the Divisional Round, and that gives them some real potential to prove these 2021 Super Bowl odds wrong.
