The main topic of conversation around the Cleveland Browns this week has been the recovery of star defender Myles Garrett, who was involved in a scary car crash on Monday. While Garrett is thankfully okay, it's still unclear when he'll be able to return to the field for the Browns.

According to teammate Greg Newsome, he doesn't seem to believe Garrett will play during this Sunday's Week 4 tilt against the Atlanta Falcons based on his comments to the media on Thursday.

While Newsome didn't specifically state that Garrett won't be able to suit up, his comments about defensive backups being prepared and ready to play suggest that three-time Pro Bowler may be unavailable on Sunday.

Newsome's vague remarks aside, the Browns may opt to rest Garrett this week rather than immediately throw him back on the field after such a serious accident. Just because the former first overall pick might be able to play or want to play doesn't mean he should play, especially so early in the season.

Cleveland also has a winnable road game in Atlanta, so rushing Garrett back for a relatively easy matchup doesn't make a ton of sense. The Browns are favored by 1.5 points on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds and are still the better team on paper even if Garrett sits.

Either way, keep an eye on Garrett's status as kickoff approaches. If he does play, that could provide a huge boost to Cleveland's defense.
