With a 58-32 record, the San Francisco Giants current sit atop the NL Central division. While they're certainly one of the favorites to go on a World Series run this year, any future success may be hard to come by after the bad news that the Giants received Friday night.

Crawford exited San Francisco's 7-2 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday with an apparent left hamstring injury. Considering how the 34-year-old veteran was in the middle of one of his best campaigns to date, this news is certainly unwelcome among Giants fans.

Brandon Crawford Injury Update

While there has yet to be any sort of update on Crawford's conditions, the Giants and their fans can expect to find out more over the weekend. Giants manager Gabe Kapler said after the game that the shortstop "will be checked out" on Saturday.

As mentioned before, Crawford was in the middle of a career year before injuring his hamstring. He has 18 home runs and 58 RBI through his first 80 games of the season, which earned him an MLB All-Star nod for the first time since 2018. The 2014 Silver Slugger also owns a slash line of .289/.363/.552, which is significantly above his career average of .252/.319/.402.

The Giants' first task without Crawford will be to beat the Cardinals again on Saturday. San Francisco will enter the game as the -120 favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
