Daniel Jones has been a lightning rod for criticism for most of his tenure with the New York Giants. The 24-year-old quarterback hasn't lived up to the expectations that came with being selected sixth overall at the 2019 NFL Draft, but it also isn't like the Giants have fielded a competitive team around him either.

Things are looking promising for Jones in 2022 judging by newly hired head coach Brian Daboll's comments, which should make a lot of Giants fans happy.

SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reported on Sunday that Daboll is "very high" on Jones and should have some great things to say about him during Monday's press conference. With a lot of the New York media constantly criticizing Jones, Daboll's positive outlook should be a nice change of pace.

Jones started just 11 games due to injury in the 2021 NFL season. He completed a career-best 64.3% of his passes for 2,428 passing yards and 10 touchdowns to seven interceptions.

Vacchiano also reported that the Giants will likely play to Jones' strengths next season. He's shown he can be a decent mobile QB when given the chance, proven by his 172 career rushes for exactly 1,000 yards and five touchdowns.

Daboll spent three seasons as Josh Allen's offensive coordinator in Buffalo, so it'll be interesting to see if he can replicate a fraction of that success with Jones in New York.

New general manager Joe Schoen previously told SNY that he thinks that Giants can win with Jones under center, so it's clear that the third-year signal-caller has his organization's support. We'll see how much help Schoen gets Jones in free agency and at the 2022 NFL Draft in April.
