The New York Giants have made some serious noise in this year's early NFL free agency period, most notably with a big splash in inking former Detroit Lions star wide receiver Kenny Golladay to a massive 4-year, $72 million contract.

The G-Men also landed former Denver Broncos RB Devontae Booker, brought back Leonard Williams on the defensive line and lured former Tennessee Titans first-round pick in CB Adoree' Jackson to New York.

However, according to some NFL scouts, general manager Dave Gettleman might have one more major move up his sleeve when it comes to bolstering the surrounding offensive cast for third-year QB Daniel Jones.

Devonta Smith Giants

While the Giants could still use some more help on the offensive line, especially after losing Kevin Zeitler in free agency, making a move on former Alabama Crimson Tide star and 2020 Heisman Trophy winner WR Devonta Smith has to be an attractive idea to Giants fans.

Smith lit up college football box scores last year after hauling 117 receptions for 1,856 yards and an insane 23 touchdowns through the air. Yet, simply drafting Smith may not be in the cards with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Despite a smaller frame and a lighter weight than your traditional NFL WR1s, Smith currently projects to a top-10 pick in this year's draft. But with the likes of former LSU Tigers star WR Ja'Marr Chase projecting around the same area, there's a chance one team in need of a WR could go with Chase over Smith and leave the Giants within striking distance to either trade up or have Smith fall into their laps at No. 11.

Either way, one thing has become clear with this offensive boost in free agency so far: the Giants are equipping Jones with the weapons he needs for the front office to get an accurate measure on his potential and future with the Giants.
