The New York Football Giants are back in the playoffs after a drought dating back all the way to the Eli Manning era in 2016. The Giants' Week 17 win over the Indianapolis Colts clinched them not only a playoff berth, but the No. 6 seed in the NFC.

Now, the only thing left to decide about the team's Wild Card game matchup is which city will the Giants travel to, San Francisco to play the 49ers or Minneapolis to play the Vikings. This makes the Giants' Week 18 game against the Eagles virtually meaningless. So as teams tend to do in late-season meaningless games, the Giants plan to rest many of their starters.

This means Daniel Jones will sit, giving Tyrod Taylor the start. Saquon Barkley will surely be on the sideline, along with maybe Darius Slayton, a couple of offensive lineman and probably a number of players on the defensive side of the ball.

We don't know exactly who will out out or not yet, or even maybe on limited snap counts, but one thing the Giants know, they cannot afford an injury to a key player in Week 18, taking these precautions is the right move by head coach Brian Daboll.
